scandal abcEver wondered who is behind the scenes, downplaying all the news stories that may damage a public figures reputation? The person that handles the big, headline grabbing crises for politicians, public figures, and mega corporations? Well,  look no further than communications consultant based out of Washington D.C., Olivia Pope. ABC has turned this story based on true events, into a dramatic series with the leading lady position played by Kerry Washington. This series premieres tonight on ABC at 10pm. All-star fixer, Pope, has worked for the White House and is completely behind-the-scenes, only dealing with cases that require the strictest of confidentiality. This new series was created by Shonda Rhimes of ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ fame, and executive produced by Judy Smith and Betsey Peters. ‘Scandal’ is based on Judy Smith’s real-life and focuses on a fictitious crisis management firm headed up by Pope, whose team is a mixed bag of morally ambiguous but super talented lawyers, hackers and investigators. Their clients range from the President of the United States, wealthy clients, athletes and many other high profile people. Star of the series Kerry Washington said; “I’m very inspired by Judy…she has become one of my absolute she-roes. She does it all. You hear these stories of places she’s been and things she’s done, and has also managed to be married and have a family. To me, Judy is larger than life. Her life is extraordinary and she terrifies all of us. So if I’m able to capture even a little bit of that, then I’m good.” Tune into the series premiere of ‘Scandal’ tonight on ABC at 10pm.
