This story follows Jonathan Ames, a young Brooklyn writer who feels like he has hit a roadblock in his life. He’s just gone through a painful break-up, which was due in large part to his drinking, not being able to finish his second novel, and parties too much with his magazine editor. He chooses to ignore reality and turns to the life of a private detective, because he wants to be a hero and a man of action. This series was created by Jonathan Ames, who has published several books, including the acclaimed graphic novel ‘The Alcoholic’. He chronicles the misadventures of a fictional Jonathan Ames as he pursues his quixotic dream of emulating his heroes from classic private detective novels. ‘Bored to Death’ stars Jason Schwartzman as Jonathan Ames; Ted Danson as George Christopher, a high-profile magazine editor and Jonathan’s Boss; and Zach Galifianakis (The Hangover) as comic book illustrator Ray Hueston, Jonathan’s confidant.
