In an original HBO Family Special, children and their families everywhere will be inspired by literary art in 'A Child's Garden of Poetry,' set to replay on HBO at 6:30pm on Saturday, April 30 (part of DISH Network programming). For viewers familiar with the Emmy Award®-winning Baby Classical series, 'A Child's Garden of Poetry' is produced by the same gifted team. A truly enriching educational experience, both children and their parents can enjoy the readings of some of the most famous pieces in poetic history. Many "award-winning performers" will be featured as poetry readers in this weekend's encore presentation including: Claire Danes, Carrie Fisher, Ziggy Marley, Dave Matthews, Josh Hamilton, Natalie Merchant, Liam Neeson, Julianne Moore, Jeffrey Wright and Philip Seymour Hoffman. In addition to poetic readings from some of today's brightest stars, viewers will also hear poetry recordings from some of the poets themselves such as Carl Sandburg, E.E. Cummings and Edna St. Vincent Millay. Many of history's most famous poets will have their literature read to the children in the presentation and to those watching at home, just some of those poets are: Langston Hughes, William Shakespeare, Robert Frost, Emily Dickinson, Claude McKay, Robert Louis Stevenson and William Wordsworth. 'A Child's Garden of Poetry' will also showcase children's thoughts on poetry and also a recital of the poems that they like best.
