DISH Network has always been a leader in HD programming, so it's no surprise that the satellite TV company is bringing OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network to its high-definition lineup for subscribers on channel 189. DISH Network subscribers with the America's Top 200 package and greater will be able to watch OWN in the crisp HD format for free starting Thursday (March 3). DISH Network's Vice President of Progamming, Dave Shull, had this to say in a recent press release: "DISH Network is the only TV company that gives our customers free HD programming for life, meaning that Oprah fans won't pay a penny more for the high definition broadcast of the channel that entertains, informs and inspires viewers to live their best lives." Oprah's new network, launched on the first of the new year, has so far been about inspiring programming, helping viewers to live by her motto of "live your best life." One show in particular that just wrapped up was quite inspirational: 'Your OWN Show: Oprah's Search for the Next Star.' Mark Burnett (producer of 'Survivor' and 'Apprentice') will be producing the winners' show to round out programming for OWN. A few other programming options on OWN viewers can expect to watch soon include: a two hour documentary on Julia Roberts, popular movies like 'Precious,' and 'Our America with Lisa Ling.' You can watch the entire finale episode of 'Your OWN Show: Oprah's Search for the Next Star' below so I won't spoil the winners for you if you don't already know. To add OWN in HD to your must-watch list of TV programs, upgrade to DISH Network's America Top 200 programming package when you visit authorized DISH Network retailer DISH Systems online or by calling 866-989-3474.
