DISH Network has unveiled its latest high definition DVR system uniquely named Hopper and Joey. The HD DVR records up to six shows at once to its 2TB of internal storage. The Joey is the extender portion that you mount to the back of the TV and connect to the Hopper through Coax rather than a network drop. They created this new HD DVR system under the theme of Kangaroos. The Hopper system includes three satellite TV receivers and a 2TB hard drive capable of storing up to 2,000 hours of HD and SD video programming. Not only does this let you record six different programs at one time, but it also allows you to play four different recorded shows from four different locations all at the same time. Pretty cool right? Combine the Hopper and The Joey together and you get the fastest satellite receiver that is currently on the market.DISH will be launching a test drive service, which lets potential customers try out its new “TV Everywhere” service free for 24 hours. This will allow testers to stream select television shows to various internet-connected devices( computers, tablets, smartphones, etc.) at no extra charge. These streaming services are already available to current subscribers of DISH Network and its rental service, Blockbuster @Home. The Test Drive service will launch in February.Customers can manage the Hopper via the Internet at DISH Remote Access app, providing the ability to control DVR recordings on their tablets, smartphones and computers. Connecting the Hopper with DISH’s Sling Adapter provides customers the ability to watch and control all live TV channels, PrimeTime Anytime programs and the DVR on their computer, tablet or smartphone wherever they go.
