DISH Network ITV launched the History Channel/Battles BC interactive application on DishHOME Channel 100 and on the History Channel (channel 120)! Using their remote control, History Channel viewers will be able to access information, participate in daily history quizzes, and set their DISH Network DVR timers for upcoming History Channel primetime programming.
And starting March 9th, historical gaming fans will be able to play along with ancient history’s greatest battles in the new interactive History Channel show “Battles BC.”
“Battles BC” uses a stunning graphic style comparable to the hit feature film “300” to show leaders from the ancient world in some of the greatest conflicts in history, bringing to life the strategies, tactics, and weapons used by classic commanders, and exposing the truths and myths behind the ancient world of epic heroes and villains.
Go Behind the Scenes – Using their remote control, History Channel viewers will be able to access information, review the biographies and credentials of on-camera historical experts, and view a gallery of images highlighting the production aspects of the program series.
Synchronized Game Play – Viewers can play along with the content of each episode, testing their knowledge of strategic choices made during history’s greatest battles and achieving military rank based on their performance.
Catch the World Premiere – “Battles BC” premieres on Monday, March 9, 2009 at 9 p.m. ET with one-hour episodes broadcast each Monday night at 9 p.m. ET for the following 10 weeks. Replays of the previous episode will be shown each Tuesday at 1 a.m. ET.
The History Channel offers exciting original programming for history and culture buffs such as “Monster Quest, “Ax Men,” “Modern Marvels,” “UFO Hunters,” and “Ice Road Truckers.” When “Battles BC” is not airing, customers can use their remote to:

• Answer daily questions related to History Channel programming content, and

Interactive Application Options – The History Channel and “Battles BC” interactive applications will appear on the bottom one-third of the screen and contains dynamic content and functionality based on programming being broadcast on the History Channel. Customers will also have the option to minimize the application while watching the History Channel.
