It’s Clark Griswold’s Biggest Competition on HGTV’s ‘Holiday Battle on the Block’

HGTV will air two episodes tonight of Holiday Battle on the Block where three families will try to out-do one another with the best holiday decorations in the neighborhood. Each family gets a budget of $5,000 to go towards their decorations, a time limit of 48 hours and the help of a professional carpenter. The three houses will be judged by hosts Kim Myles and Scott McGillivry plus local community members. At the end of two full days, the three houses will be judged on the following criteria: beauty, originality and execution.

The first episode of Holiday Battle on the Block will feature a neighborhood in Youngstown, New York at 8:00 PM, followed by a competition in the community of Markham, Ontario at 8:30 PM. On the Youngstown, New York episode you’ll see three different, distinct themes including: a Nutcracker theme, a Youngstown theme with live soldiers and a Candyland theme with 20,000 lights. Decorations are equally as creative and impressive up north in Markham, Ontario with a Santa’s workshop display, traditional theme with live animals and a lighting display that lights up to the tune of Christmas carols.
