From tap to ballet, break dancing and isolations, America sure has its fair share of talent when it comes to the performing arts, with no style of dance discounted. The original dance reality series, 'So You Think You Can Dance,' (SYTYCD) returns to FOX television, part of DISH Network programming in HD on Thursday, May 26 at 8pm. 'So You Think You Can Dance' provides a national platform for dancers from all over the country to showcase their niche style of dance while ultimately displaying versatility in order to make it to the top spot on the show. FOX will air the two-hour season 8 premiere of SYTYCD Thursday night, featuring the first tryouts in Atlanta Georgia and the Bay Area in Northern California. All different walks of dancers take their chance at wowing the judges, but similar to the wannabe singers who tried out for 'American Idol,' many hopefully trying out for SYTYCD make you wonder what type of competition they think they're actually trying out for...clearly not a dancing one. Some of the best dance talent has been showcased on the SYTYCD stage, with last year's winner Lauren Froderman (pictured) proving to be one of America's most deserving dancers to win the SYTYCD title, be sure to check out one of her best performances during last season in the video below. Mary Murphy is back this season to help Nigel Lythgoe judge the contestants, along with a list of at least five guest judges to help throughout the season and of course Cat Deely will be hosting each show again. Don't miss the season 8 premiere of SYTYCD tonight on FOX at 8/7c. For more information on upgrading to HD programming, visit authorized DISH Network retailer, DISH Systems online or call 866-989-3474. Will you tune in to SYTYCD tonight? Who has been your favorite dancer on the show in the seasons past? Are you glad Mary Murphy returned as a judge?
