Sony Movie Channel is getting into the streaming business. They are making their services available to DISH Network subscribers. Following with the DISH ‘TV Everywhere’ theme, Sony cable network is launching Sony Movie Channel Everywhere. They plan to offer uncut and uninterrupted theatrical releases from its movie studio’s library. Subscribers of DISH will login using their cable account information to www.sonymoviechannel.com/smc-everywhere and stream titles from more than 3,500 Sony Pictures films. “We continue to see a strong demand for high definition movie content and recognize that our viewers are well-connected,” Sony Movie Channel GM, Superna Kalle said. “By making our high-quality catalogue of feature films available online, DirecTV and DISH Network customers can now enjoy our collection of content anytime and anywhere.” Customers looking to subscribe to the Sony Movie Channel can also register through the outlet on DISH Networks site www.dishonline.com. Viewers must be subscribers to Sony Movie Channel through Dish’s Blockbuster Movie Pass in order to have total access to the content offered through DISH online. There will be 20 new titles added monthly, with the first set of titles to include ‘Night of the Living Dead,’ ‘The Prince of Tides,’ ‘The Razor’s Edge,’ ‘The Seventh Sign’ and ‘Silverado.’ There will eventually be over 35,000 movie titles coming from Columbia Pictures, TriStar Pictures, Screen Gems and Sony Pictures Classics.
