A lot of familiar shows will be returning to the CW for the upcoming 2012-2013 season. The CW will be introducing three new series, plus two more in the midseason. New shows that haven’t made the cut are “The Carrie Diaries,” the Sex and the City spinoff starring Anna Sophia Robb, and “Cult”, a drama about an investigative journalist investigating his brother’s disappearance—both were supposed to premiere in the midseason. Also absent from the lineup is “The Selection”, a pilot ordered by the network back in February that starred Aimee Teegarden and Ethan Peck and was set in a futuristic society. Also absent from The CW’s release is how many episodes ‘Gossip Girl’ will be renewed for. Fall 2012-2013 is the final season for this hit show; however producers have yet to say how many shows they are allowing for. “I haven’t announced anything yet,” said CW President, Mark Pedowitz. “Our goal is to run it in the fall and end it in the fall.” The episode order, which was previously reported as being 11, will depend greatly on the time frame needed, he added. “The creators have been great in terms of helping us determine.” Here is the current list of CW programming for 2012-2013 seasons:
9-10pm: ‘Gossip Girl’
8-9pm: ‘Hart of Dixie’
9-10pm: ‘Emily Owens, M.D.’
8-9pm: ‘The Vampire Diaries’
9-10pm: ‘Beauty and the Beast’
8-9pm: ‘America’s Next Top Model’
You will see some changes next season, but one of the biggest things about the CW networks 2012-2013 season is that it will be the last season of ‘Gossip Girl.’ The season will open with the Upper East Siders working together to find Serena. Her friends are fearing the worst but hoping for the best. Tune in to find out what happens. For the latest DISH Programming Updates visit us at DISH-Systems.com or call (866)989-3474.
