Turner Classic Movies Plans Elizabeth Taylor Tribute in April, Part of DISH Programming

TCM (Turner Classic Movies), the go-to channel for indulging in black and white movie classics, has announced its April 10 tribute to Elizabeth Taylor, playing 24 hours of her classic films on DISH Network (channel 132) in remembrance of her lifelong career as she passed away Wednesday (March 23). On top of the full day of Elizabeth Taylor films, TCM will air the 1951 Taylor classic A Place in the Sun during the 2011 TCM Classic Movie Festival in Hollywood at the end of April. TCM will be airing the following Elizabeth Taylor movies on April 10 in Eastern time:
  • Lassie Come Home (1943): 6:00am
  • National Velvet (1944): 7:30am
  • Conspirator (1952): 10:00am
  • Father of the Bride (1950): 11:30am
  • Father's Little Dividend (1951): 1:15pm
  • Raintree County (1957): 2:45pm
  • Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1958): 6:00pm
  • Butterfield 8 (1960) - Taylor won the Oscar for Best Actress: 8:00pm
  • Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolf? - Taylor won the Oscar for Best Actress (1966): 10:00pm
  • Giant (1956): 12:30am
  • Ivanhoe (1952): 4:00am
In addition to TCM's April 10 dedication to Elizabeth Taylor movies, Biography Channel will be airing  a two-hour biography on the leading lady's life both onscreen and personally on Thursday, March 24 at 8pm.
