Plan on adding one more reality TV competition series to your DISH Network DVR list, now that the Syfy channel will be premiering a one-of-a-kind show that displays the talents of aspiring special effects makeup artists in the 'Face Off.' This awe inspiring TV series premieres tonight at 10:00 PM on channel 122 for DISH Network subscribers. New challenges will be presented each week with different themes from crafting a villain set to resemble something that could easily be recognized in a graphic horror movie to transforming participants' appearances in a full body paint challenge. The contestants will also be judged on a variety of skills that include "prosthetics, 3D design, sculpting, eye enhancers, casting and molding," (SyFy Channel, 'Face Off'). In the premiere challenge tonight the contestants will be tasked with creating a hybrid of a human and an animal - should be interesting to see the end results at the very least. The panel of A-list special FX veterans that will judge the contestants' work and help launch one of their careers include: Ve Neill who's Academy Award winning work includes Edward Scissorhands and Pirates of the Caribbean, Patrick Tatopoulos special effects star from Underworld and Independence Day and Glen Hetrick who has worked on television shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Heroes and The X-Files. You can catch the premiere episode of 'Face Off' tonight in HD on the Syfy Channel, part of DISH Network programming.
